Every year, at the end of the tourist season, volunteers from the staff of the BAIKALSEA Company travel to Olkhon Island to clean up the coast and collect rubbish left by holidaymakers. This year, the coastline near the village of Kharantsy and the forest in Khuzhir were cleared of plastic, bottles and packaging. All collected rubbish was removed from Lake Baikal by the company's team for disposal and recycling.
“Preserving the nature of Lake Baikal for us is part of our daily work,” says Ruslan Kokovin, General Director of the BAIKALSEA Company. “Many processes in the company are tuned from the point of view of environmental friendliness. A system of separate collection and disposal of waste has been introduced at all company’s facilities. The production is planned and located in such a way as not to cause any damage to nature. We stand for compliance with environmental legislation and tightening of legal requirements for the protection of the unique lake. "
Also in August 2021, an eco-campaign from the well-known regional BAIKALSEA Company brand - the Irkutskaya mineral table water – took place. Throughout the month, a collection point for empty PET bottles was open. The bottles could be exchanged for bonus points from the online store irkvoda.market. Several thousand empty bottles of Irkutsk mineral water, brought in by Irkutsk residents, were sent for recycling. Now, for this purpose, each customer, upon receiving an order from an online store, will be able to hand over empty plastic bottles to the courier.
